Merged Memories

In this series of paintings, each artwork is a mosaic of carefully chosen photographs merged into a single, somewhat surreal painting. Every photograph used acts as a key to unlock a specific moment in time. The act of merging these images is an homage to the complex interplay of memory, perception, and emotion.

The intentional surreal quality of each composition mirrors the not-quite-right essence of recollection. It is as if the paintings serve as windows into a parallel world—one where emotion is not bound by the limitations of time and space. This series celebrates the beauty of the fleeting moments that define us, reminding us that even in the most ordinary of days, laughter and love can be found.

Process Notes:

For these painted collages, I began by carefully selecting photographs that elicited the strongest emotional responses. I then loosely sketched these chosen images together into a unified drawing. During the painting process, I continually referred back to both the overall sketch and each individual photograph, ensuring that the essence captured in the initial selection was faithfully translated onto the canvas.
